In addition to leading the oat segment in Brazil, we occupy a prominent position as one of the largest whole grain mills in Latin America. With a modern infrastructure, SL is a reference in solutions for human food and animal nutrition. In its portfolio of whole, plant-based and clean label products, there is all the technology for healthy, sustainable and indulgent lines in the oats, protein cereals, pulses, flours, extruded products, baby food, proteins and vegetable drinks.
Currently, the group of companies has more than 500 employees. It operates in the production and development of whole, plant-based and clean label products for human food and animal nutrition, in the lines of oats and other cereals, special flours, pulses, baby food , proteins and vegetable drinks.

Establishment of SL Alimentos
SL Cereais e Alimentos is created to receive and sell grains and work on the industrialization for horse feeding

Company Consolidation
SL becomes the main Brazilian company in the distribution of oats for animal feed

The idea for the mill
Oat planting in undergoing expansion, creating the opportunity to operate in the market for human food

SL hires a specialized company to build a modern oat mill and starts acquiring the equipment

Producing seeds
SL establish a seed mill in Mauá da Serra to produce seeds, establishing supportive relationships with oat breeding institutions in Brazil

Starting up the mill
During the first semester of 1996, the construction of the buildings of the oat mill begins. In 1997 SL Alimentos entered the oat market for human consumption
Co-manufacturing Market
Nestlé's NQS certification is obtained. In addition to the ingredient products, SL Alimentos starts to manufacture final products under the brands of its clients in co- manufacturing contracts

The public targets for 2023/2024 and 2030 were set to contribute to the SDGs: SDG 2 - Zero hunger and sustainable agriculture; SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth; SDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure; SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production; and SDG 13 - Action against global climate change. We control our greenhouse gas emissions publicly through the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program.
